Kingston is amazing! Granted, we’re a bit biased, but we’re happy to be welcoming you to the tourism jewel of Southeastern Ontario, a mid-sized city that’s rich in culture, deep in heritage, and bursting to the seams with things to do, places to visit, and food to eat.
Here are some links to get you started exploring Kingston – and don’t be shy about asking us questions!
We are expecting around 450 delegates this year. CUCCIO members represent 57 universities across Canada, serving more than 95% of the country’s university students.
If you’re involved in I.T. and higher education, we want you here this June! Attendee job titles from previous CANHEITs included:
As you can see, IT in higher education is a big tent. No matter your job title, you’ll find peers to connect with and content relevant to your job and your interests at CANHEIT 2017.
Yes it is. As the only national conference for IT professionals in higher education in Canada, CANHEIT brings together IT staff from universities and colleges across Canada each year to share ideas, showcase best practices and learn from each other.
Great question. The Ontario Universities Computing Conference (OUCC) is only held when CANHEIT is not in Ontario. Wilfrid Laurier hosted OUCC in 2016. It will be at Laurentian University for 2018: www3.laurentian.ca/oucc2018/ Check out their pretty fun teaser video...
In 2016, sponsors of the joint CANHEIT|HPCS conference included: Brocade, Cray, Juniper Networks, Lenovo, Nutanix, Obsidian Strategics, ServiceNow, Trend Micro, VMware, Adaptive Computing, Citrix, Compugen, Frequency Foundry, Genband, Hewlett Packard, Malwarebytes, Qualtrics, Seagate, sgi, TOPdesk, Trustwave, and Veeam.
As sponsor agreements are signed and packages confirmed, sponsors will be added to our Sponsors page on the event website. All sponsor packages will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you’re interested in more information, please contact Keith McWhirter, the chair of our Sponsors Committee.
You can learn all about this year’s keynote speakers at our Keynote Speakers page.
We’ll be featuring a range of professional IT experts from across Canada’s higher education sector, and that might even include you! If you think you might have a good subject for a talk, visit our Programs page for a list of thought-starter topics; our Program Committee chair, Curtis Ireland, will be looking forward to hearing from you.
The full program is under development and will be online in late March or early April. You can read about our keynote speakers now, and our social events page and program pages will be evolving in the coming weeks as we finalize our plans for CANHEIT 2017.
